The Power of Modeling How the Law of Attraction Works.

I've been a student of the Law of Attraction since I was 17 years old. Way before the movie The Secret came out, I was reading books about how our thoughts create our realities. The first book that introduced me to such a concept was Sermon on the Mount, by Emmet Fox.

Here's a quote from page 14: "Now we can choose the sort of thoughts that we entertain. It will be a little difficult to break a bad habit of thought, but it can be done. We can choose how we shall think-in point of fact, we always do choose-and therefore our lives are just the result of the kind of thoughts we have chosen to hold; and therefore they are of our own ordering; and therefore there is perfect justice in the universe."

The first time I read this book, I sat in absolute amazement after reading each sentence. You have to understand, this was the first time I was exposed to this kind of thinking, or was ready to hear it in this lifetime, anyway. And the thing is, I knew at a soul level that what I was reading was true: What you focus on is what you will create in your life.

The reason I'm telling you this is because it's the same thing with sharing The Law of Attraction with others. If they are not ready or interested in what you want to share with them, that's okay, because "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."

"But what about my alcoholic sister or my best friend who is going through a tumultuous divorce," you ask?

"They could really use this way of thinking right now."

Following your guidance is a big part of spiritual development. If you feel guided to share The Law of Attraction with them, and how it works, great. But if you come up against some resistance, The Law of Attraction says that we are to focus on ourselves and not the other person, because after all, we are creating our own experiences. And if we are creating and attracting our own experiences, then it stands to reason that we attracted this person in our life who is not interested in The Law of Attraction or who is resisting such ways of thinking. So we can then ask ourselves, what am I resisting about The Law of Attraction? Is there a part of me that doesn't believe in its validity or existence?

Focus on your own spirituality and evolution and on being an example to others of how to live a life full of joy. You will influence others the most in this way.

The object is not to force this way of thinking on anyone. There is no need to.

You can certainly take advantage of opportunities to share your insights with others. For instance, when they share a particular problem or concern with you, you can offer insights from a Law of Attraction point of view. If they ask questions and want to take the conversation further, great. If not, that's okay too. The last thing you want to do is constantly preach this stuff to people. Nothing could lose their interest faster.

The key is to continue nurturing and feeding your own understanding of the Law of Attraction. That is the best thing you can do for others, because the more you understand these truths, the more you will feel comfortable sharing them with people in a way that works for all of you.

The most important thing is that you take care of yourself first. Feed yourself spiritually, and you can then more effectively with others. Do whatever you need to do to create a sense of peace and joy in your life. This is of the utmost importance, because the people in your life will simply mirror whatever it is you are experiencing internally. It is so difficult to tune in to others when our inner and outer lives are chaotic and stressful. Your first responsibility is to yourself. Create peace and joy in your life, and you will wind up being a bright light for those who are ready to pull up the shades.
