When The Secret used the word “Universe”, they were simply using a generic word that could envelope all beliefs (quote from the secret: “Traditions have called it so many things-your holy guardian angel, your higher self. We can put any label on it, and you choose the one that works best for you, but every tradition has told us there’s something bigger than us.”) How does that contradict christianity? The Secret’s message was simple…everyone deserves to be happy, is that really so bad?

I never really listened to him, only recognize the name so, I couldn’t tell ya.

  5. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

Are you familiar with the Christian faith and the Bible?

  6. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

Of course! That’s why I’m wondering what the issue is. Heck, why don’t we just use the Bible to prove what the “Law of Attraction” teaches…

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. [Mark 11:23]

“He shall have whatsoever he saith”. Ask, Believe, Receive; it’s that simple.

  7. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

Who then are you asking from, believing in and receiving from? By whose authority are you telling “the mountain” what to do?

  8. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

The law of attraction is occultish. I used to be involved in it. It teaches you to have faith in faith and not faith in God.
Dont be blinded by the God of this world. Store up treasures in heaven bro.
Yes i agree ask, believe, expect, recieve. But it is faith in God that brings it you.
Yes if its in Gods will we can move mountains spiritually and physically! but it is God (+ His faith in us) that is doing the moving not us or our faith.
    God bless.

whats interesting is that once you get a good understanding about the Law of Attraction & how it works you began to see how everything is true. Example: Two people will watch the same film & each will walk away with a different perspective about the information they just witnessed this is b/c it has more to do about who you are & what you believe than it does about what is actually being said. So, if you have a certain belief system you will view The Secret in a certain way.

  10. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

That is very true. Our belief system interprets whatever information is presented to us. A Christian belief system centered in the Bible comes from the perspective that everything is from a Holy God that includes Father, Son and Spirit. That we are not our own gods. Someone who wants to be their own god will certainly have a different perspective of The Secret. It reinforces what they desire. And, yes, that was my conflict with it. That is why I have a different understanding of it.

I found your video response very honest and I respect that. I myself am also a Christian, but I have a different vantage point which is why I dont find the teaching to conflict with Christianity for me. May God bless you!

  12. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

As being a follower of Jesus Christ, what would be your different vantage point?

  13. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

I’m a third generation Christian, & at an early age I was someone that always wanted to know “why.” I went to Seminary and to this day continue to study Theology however in my studies I became very conflicted w/ God and religion. In all honesty I will say that I am at odds with religion. But for me religion is not God. I love God, I do believe that Jesus is God in the flesh. However thru my studies I have learned that there is alot more to the story.

  14. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

In Jesus day, the Pharisees were “religious” but did not have the right understanding. So, you are right, religion isn’t necessarily about God and truth. Doing good things or the “right” things isn’t the way to salvation. Christians do believe that Jesus is God in the flesh. So, right now, I don’t see the different vantage point.

  15. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

Thru my studies thats were the new perspective comes from. And it’s not really something that I could sit & tell you about b/c again it wouldn’t make sense unless you were asking the same questions that I was asking 5 yrs ago. But honestly, if you never care to understand any of it that would be ok, nothing would be lost or Gods plan wouldn’t fall apart. It’s a win win situation whether your in on it or not. Science tells us that universe is expanding & there are many of us who are in on it.

  16. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

To tell you the truth, your perspective is very obscure. Here is what I know from God’s Word. Jesus died because of Adam & Eve’s original sin of believing Satan’s lie that they could become as gods. Sin caused a separation between God & man. 2 Corinth 11:3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere & pure devotion to Christ.

Colossians2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.

  18. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

Yeah, I have huge conflicts because the secret really is a focus on the self, and a focus on what the pleasures of life that the self can indulge in before death. The focus isn’t Jesus. The Bible says that those who keep thier mind stayed on Him, not positive thoughts, He will keep them in perfect peace. This secret is a seducing spirit that is kicking out Jesus and posting the self as the center of life… then living life is all about pleasure for man and not glory for God…

I am a Christian and have read The Secret. The Law of Attraction is real and it does work for the Christian and non Christian, just as it rains on the just and the unjust as stated in the Bible. If you are a seasoned Christian you can apply a Biblical perspective to The Secret and realize that you are blessed in order to be a blessing to others. But for the non Christian, they will create money to become their idol and be led astray. What good is it to be wealthy, then to lose your soul?

AMEN!! I used to be involved in this b4 i was born again. This teaching says you dont need to believe in God and it will still work!! Does andrew wommack teach this?
“There will come a time when people will think gain is godliness – FROM SUCH WITHDRAW THYSELF”

  22. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

Well, thank the Lord you got the heck out of there, Amen?

  23. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

Amen! Does andrew wommack teach this aswell?

  24. Anonymous on December 16th, 2008

In the audios Andrew has on his website, he teaches that there are laws, physical and spiritual, that are set forth on this earth when God gave man dominion. And just as the physical laws work for everyone, Christian and non-Christian, so do the spiritual laws. I would guess that is what the New Agers would call the law of attraction. But we know that all those things are not random from the universe, but set forth by the Triune God Almighty. Wommack’s teachings helped me sort through that.

So just as anyone can say the law of gravity is from the big bang or that thing are caused from evolution, so can someone say the if you put your intentions out to the universe, that you get back from the universe. We know that God made all things. And thank Him for everything. We are not gods and powerful creators as some videos proclaim. Believing that we are was the first sin, by the way.
